It is the intent of SPC to provide an environment in which the student can grow academically and socially. By participating in group activities, a student can experience leadership, organization, and social interaction. Being a member of a club or organization will be fun but it is also a learning experience.

Student Government Purpose

The Student Senate of South Plains College acts as the governing agency of the Student Government Association for the

purpose of advising and recommending the formulation of policy pertaining to the student life of the college.

It is also the purpose of Student Government to assist and advise in the planning and administration of the Student Life program promoting

student participation, morale and welfare of the college campus.  An executive branch consisting of Student Government President

and a cabinet of officers and a legislative body consisting of the Student Senate comprise the Student Government.

Offices in Student Government are both elective and appointive.

SPC Bands

Showcase your talents with the South Plains College Fine Arts department. Opportunities await you with the SPC Bands. Choose from instrumental activities such as the Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, and chamber ensembles that perform on campus and in the community. The Sharpshooters provide school spirit for the SPC Texans basketball team and liven up all home basketball games.
Vocal activities are also available for students of any major, and performances vary from recitals, and college musicals and other theatrical productions.
Scholarships are available for students, regardless of major. Bringing your musical skills to South Plains College will help you get connected quickly to other students.
